Friends of Sutter’s Fort are pleased to present our annual “The Haunted Fort” lantern-lit walking tours. Based in fact -- but with a decidedly creepy twist -- the historic site will offer these special tour on two-evenings only on October 27 & 28, 2017.
Sutter’s Fort SHP was once a portal for weary pioneers and serves as the gateway to their restless spirits, who return to tell the tales of their lives and melancholy deaths at this special event. During these walking tours, daring visitors will visit darkened rooms and hear unusual and intriguing tales of how some of California’s early pioneers perished throughout history.
“The Haunted Fort” tours leave every 15 minutes from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and may not be appropriate for very young children. Advance tickets are recommended and cost $8 per adult and $6 for youth ages 8-17.
Not appropriate for children under 8. Tours are arranged in groups of 15 which does not allow for strollers. If you require additional space to accommodate a mobility device, please contact us.
Please note that this is not a horror house, but the lantern lit tours can be startling and your travels through the Fort rooms can be uneven.
This is not an opportunity for paranormal investigation and will not be permitted. Guests who bring paranormal equipment on tours will be not be allowed to continue and tickets will not be refunded. Thank you for your understanding.
