The Friends of Sutter’s Fort are pleased to provide an outstanding unique opportunity for groups to experience Sutter's Fort - Pioneer Dinners!
Looking for a unique dining experience in Sacramento? Join us for one of our popular Pioneer Dinners and experience what life may have been like at Sutter's Fort in the 1840’s!
Pioneer Dinners are available for groups of 25 to 100 and are great for tour groups, associations and clubs who are looking to experience Sutter's Fort after hours. Its a great way to celebrate a special occasion, or to add a memorable experience to your visit to Sacramento.
During each Pioneer Dinner guests are greeted at the large historic gates and are provided a brief introduction to the history of Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park. Once inside, guests can take a self-guided tour at their own pace. During the evening, guests will enjoy a delicious BBQ dinner, served buffet style under the open air of Sutter's Fort- where they will often be treated to a beautiful sunset. The Sutter’s Fort Trade Store will also be open for guests during the event.
At each Pioneer Dinner guests are joined by experienced Sutter’s Fort docent volunteers, dressed in historic costume and ready to answer questions about Sutter's Fort and life in the 1840's. Depending on the group, they may be able to provide demonstrations such as butter churning, weaving or rope making. Occasionally one of our Blacksmiths may also pay a visit.
