Author and illustrator and TED speaker Maira Kalman once said that "A visit to a museum is a search for beauty, truth and meaning in our lives. Go to museums as often as you can."
Please join Friends of Sutter’s Fort on Museum Store Sunday, as we partner with the Museum Store Association and over 450 museum stores throughout the country to offer relaxing, inspired shopping inside your favorite museums and cultural institutions.
By participating in Museum Store Sunday, you will support our efforts to provide highly curated, unique, mission-specific gifts. From books to jewelry to children’s products to home accessories and gourmet food, there is something for everyone.
We pride ourselves in carrying items that serve an educational or interpretive purpose- and often these are unique items that you won’t find in traditional stores. All proceeds from our Trade Store sales go back into supporting our work at Friends of Sutter’s Fort.
Shop knowing you are supporting the preservation, protection and enhancement of Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park, and the educational programs that serve over 50,000 children annually.
Plus, this year we are delighted to have Author Richard Mitchell speak at 3 p.m. on his new book, Strawberry: Valley of Legends. Richard will be joined by Sacramento artist Jay Weldon, who illustrated this beautiful book.
About Strawberry: Valley of Legends
This beautiful historical memoir was written by former owner of the historic Strawberry Lodge, Richard Mitchell. The book details his experiences at the iconic Strawberry Lodge at Echo Summit, and also delves into the history of over 150 years in Strawberry. The book is full color and includes dozens of photos and illustrations. A perfect gift for this holiday season!
