4/18: Curator Talks: Through the Lens of Harry Peterson (Sacramento Photography Month Event)

Join us for this special event as we take an intimate look at Sutter's Fort through the camera lens of its very first curator, Harry Peterson.

In honor of Photography Month Sacramento, we will be joined by Nancy Jenner, current curator of Sutter's Fort State Historic Park, who will showcase some of Harry's rarely seen photographs of Sutter's Fort during the Depression era. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity!

Appointed in 1926, Harry dedicated the rest of his life to Sutter's Fort and used his camera to document its transformation from a pioneer memorial into the living history museum that it is today. When Peterson died in 1941, he left behind a collection of over 7,000 glass plate and nitrate negative slides documenting California and Sutter's Fort history.
