Catch Gold Fever!

Hands on History:
Catch Gold Fever!
Saturday, January 20th -- 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
$7 per adult, $5 per youth (ages 6-17), and free for members and children under five.
Become a member of the Friends of Sutter's Fort to receive free admission to this and future Hands on History events.

"Catch Gold Fever!" will focus on the rush for GOLD that gripped Sacramento in 1849, when miners from around the world rushed in and changed California forever. Visitors will be able to:
  • Pan for gold and other minerals (Eureka! You can keep what you find!)
  • Dress up as a pioneer for a special family photo-op
  • Play parlor games, card games, and other games of chance
  • Sample gold nugget chocolates at the Sutter's Fort Gift and Trade Store
Guns and weapons from the Gold Rush era will also be on display, complete with popular demonstrations of black powder weaponry in action, including the firing of Sutter's favorite cannon (weather permitting of course).
For more information regarding this event, check Facebook or please call the park at (916) 445-4422.
