Celebrate Second Saturday with Friends of Sutter’s Fort and our partners at Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park!

Join us on May 13 as we continue our free outdoor movie series, Films with Friends! We will be projecting one of the world’s most popular movie musicals, Grease (Rockin’ Rydell Edition.. AKA, Sing-a-Long) onto the historic walls of Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park. As Danny Zuko says, “it’s electrifying!”

So dress up as your favorite greaser or pink lady and get ready to sing “You’re the one that I want”, “Summer lovin’, had me a blast” “We’ll always be together” and more. Dress up as your favorite character and you might win a prize!

Don’t miss this chance to relive the magic of Grease outdoors, under the stars, in the middle of Midtown during Second Saturday!

Films with Friends Program

7:00 PM

Find your perfect spot in the public park grounds at Sutter’s Fort SHP. The movie will be projected onto the wall at 26th and L. Spaces are first come first serve, please bring your own chairs/blankets. Dogs on leash are OK. No alcohol please.

Listen to live 50’s and 60’s music by Mike Ely while we wait for the movie to begin. Delicious VolksWaffle desserts, refreshing beverages and candy will be on-site and available for purchase. The first 100 attendees to visit the Friends of Sutter’s Fort table will receive a glow bracelet and small popcorn.

8:15 PM

Grease will begin as soon as it is dark enough to see the movie projection on the walls of Sutter’s Fort SHP.

10:15 PM (Approx)

We Go Together! The movie ends with a spectacular carnival scene where Danny and Sandy fly off into the sky in a red convertible car.

While the outdoor movies are free, you can also choose to support Friends of Sutter’s Fort by purchasing a Films with Friends Fun Pack for $50 with all proceeds benefiting efforts to bring more community events and activations to Sutter’s Fort. Friends Fun Packs are available to order in advance on our website and on-site at the event (if and while supplies last).

Each Friends Fun Pack will include:

• Fun picnic blanket perfect for watching the movie on the lawn

• Assortment of candy

• 4 sodas or waters

• 4 small popcorns
