Are you looking for a fun, meaningful and unique way to use your time and talents as a volunteer? Join our vibrant community!

California State Parks invites you to attend their next volunteer orientation at Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park (SHP) on Saturday, June 29th!

This orientation gives you the chance to meet other interested volunteers, learn more about the California State Parks system, and discuss the art of interpretation (don’t worry if this term is unfamiliar, you will explore what it means with your fellow volunteers!).

Hundreds of guests visit Sutter’s Fort SHP each day, all eager to learn about the history of early California and life at Sutter’s Fort. With so much rich history to share, no single person can know the answer to every question.

Every volunteer, however, can contribute their own unique skills, knowledge, and experiences to an already diverse volunteer group. Volunteers of all ages are welcome.

Please note that registration for this orientation is required:

For more information or to register, please contact Ryan Bangs, Volunteer Coordinator at Sutter’s Fort SHP, by email at ryan.bangs@parks.ca.gov or by phone at (916) 323-2015.
