Party Likes it’s 1846!
The Friends of Sutter’s Fort are pleased to provide an outstandingly unique opportunity for groups to experience an after hours version of Sutter’s Fort – Pioneer Dinners!
Join us for one of our popular Pioneer Dinners to experience what life may have been like at Sutter’s Fort during the 1840s!
Pioneer Dinners are available for groups of 25 to 100 and are an excellent way to celebrate a special occasion, or to add a memorable experience to your visit to Sacramento.
What is a Pioneer Dinner?
Our Pioneer Dinners are private events that bring history to life after hours at Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park. Guests are greeted at the large historic gates before enjoying a brief introduction to the history of Sutter’s Fort. Once inside, guests can take a self-guided tour at their own pace and interact with Sutter’s Fort Docent volunteers (dressed in historic costume) ready to answer questions about Sutter’s Fort and life in the 1840s. Arrangements may also be made in advance to provide demonstrations such as butter churning, cannon firings, weaving, and/or rope making. Occasionally one of our Blacksmiths may also pay a visit! During the evening, guests will also enjoy a BBQ dinner.
Pioneer Dinners prices start at $55 per guest, which includes all taxes, fees and gratuity.
All proceeds from Pioneer Dinners support the ongoing efforts of Friends of Sutter’s Fort.
Groups have the option of adding services such as:
- Alcohol Service with Bartender
- Root Beer and Old Fashioned Soda Station
- Old-Time Photo Station
- Souvenir Glassware
