Juneteenth commemorates the liberation of the last enslaved people in Texas, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation had abolished slavery in the Confederate States in 1863.
The public is invited to the second annual Juneteenth Celebration, presented by California State Parks, California State Parks Foundation, Friends of Lakes Folsom and Natoma (FOLFAN), and the Juneteenth U.S.A. at Black Miners Bar Planning Committee.
This free community event features:

• Coloring station for kids 12 and under
• Arts and crafts
• Music
• Panel of historians
The celebration will also include food and commercial vendors, and the state park location provides lakeside beach access, including kayak/SUP rentals.
While the Juneteenth event is free, vehicles are subject to a $10 day use fee to enter the state park.
