The roof project is moving along at Sutter’s Fort, with all of the shingles now installed on the entire western side of the Fort, including the Distillery Room, Blacksmith Shop, Museum Store and Grist Mill. This important project began in June and not only involves roof replacement but also seismic work.

Our Museum Store has now reopened after five months of closure. Other rooms found in the completed section of the Fort structures are in the process of being reopened.

The roof project will now continue on the southeast side of the Fort. The orientation room, cooper shop, immigrant room and jail are now closed and fencing has been placed throughout this portion of the Fort.
