Celebrate Earth Day at Sutter’s Fort

Join us on Saturday, April 19, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM as we celebrate Earth Day at Sutter’s Fort and the State Indian Museum. Enjoy a day of family-friendly DIY activities that promote environmental stewardship and reciprocity at home.
In addition to our normal hands-on stations, demonstrations, and presentations about the environmental impacts of Sutter’s Fort in the 1840s, you will have the opportunity to interact with various community groups dedicated to preserving and protecting the flora and fauna in our world.
Activities include:
– California native plant sales
– Guided tours of native plant species in the park
– DIY bird feeders using California native plant seeds
– Build new bird boxes for the park while learning about Sacramento area birds
– Corn husk flower making using natural dyes and ingredients
– AND MORE!
Admission Information:
– $5.00 – Adults
– $3.00 – Youth
– Children 5 and under free
Participating partners include the American River Parkway Foundation, Miridae Plant Nursery, SMUD, Sacramento Valley Native Plant Society, Three Sisters Gardens, and more!
As an added bonus, visitors receive dual admission to both the State Indian Museum and Sutter’s Fort on the 3rd Saturday of each month!
