Plan Ahead for Thanksgiving Weekend
Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park is a great place to visit with out of town guests over the holiday weekend. While Sutter’s Fort SHP will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, the historic structures will be open throughout the rest of the weekend with free admission for self-guided tours. Roof Replacement Project: Ready for Shingles
The roof replacement project is in full swing. Shingles will begin to be installed on the western side of the Fort, including the Carpenter Shop, Museum Store, and Grist Mill. Sutter’s Fort Over Time: Grand Electrical Carnival Invitation
On September 9, 1895, Sacramento held a parade to celebrate the arrival of hydroelectric power to the city. The parade drew a crowd of 60,000 participants who gazed upon some 25,000 lights, many of which were attached to parade floats. Historic Wood Shake Roof Replacement Continues
